About Institutional Repositories

MBZUAI eCommons is the central repository for MBZUAI affiliated scholarly and academic works. The repository promotes and supports open dissemination and allows global communities of researchers and other interested parties to explore linked and curated examples of MBZUAI scholarship.

MBZUAI eCommons is part of the bepress Digital Commons Network which collates scholarly articles from universities and colleges worldwide. Curated and posted by university libraries and deposited by an institution's community, the Network includes peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, dissertations, working papers, conference proceedings, and other original scholarly work of an institution's authors, and their coauthors and collaborators.

The MBZUAI community is encouraged to submit research, discover content by a department's output, or by affiliated authors and coauthors, limit a search to the MBZUAI repository, or search content on a network of repositories.

The purpose of the institutional repository remains to curate and preserve an institution's research output and make it available free of charge to a broader community, however if an open access version is not currently available, a link to a published version of the document is provided.

Submissions accepted for deposit are scholarly in nature, research-oriented, or of institutional significance and are authored by MBZUAI affiliated faculty, staff, researchers, and students. The repository is home to MBZUAI theses and dissertations and includes materials of interest to the institutional memory.

The repository is administered by MBZUAI Library. MBZUAI Library adheres to UAE copyright law and international intellectual property and copyright conventions and agreements, and of which the UAE is a signatory. Submitting authors must own the copyright for all components of the content or have permission from co-authors or publishers to make the content available on MBZUAI’s repository on an open access basis.

MBZUAI researchers may also choose to have a researcher profile page built by MBZUAI Library. In addition to links to selected works, researcher profiles may include short biographies and information on research interests and current projects.
